Zine (zēn) /noun, informal/ – a miniature magazine, typically self published



10:00 AM – NOON: Participate with your children in an interactive family zine-making workshop at Michigan City Public Library. (All Ages, Free to Public)


12:30 – 5:00 PM: Lubeznik Center for the Arts will host 30 – 40 zine-makers, small presses and indie authors to exhibit and share their work. The art center will be bursting at the seams with talent.

@ 12:30 PM KEYNOTE ADDRESS presented by Dr. Fred Wright.
@ 2:00 PM Artists, activists and academics host a panel.
@ 3:00 – 5:00 PM Poetry readings. (All Ages, Free to Public)

6:00 – 9:30 PM: Sit back, relax and listen to a group of storytellers, poets & musicians tickle your eardrums at Artspace Uptown Artist Lofts. Hosted by The Literary Underground. (Ages 16+, Free to Public // Cash Bar, Beer & Wine Ages 21+)

@ 6:30 Storytelling hour organized by Gregg Fraley with Jack Zimmerman, Mary Dean Cason, Joanna Trotter, Valerie Mrak, and Holly Schroeder
@ 7:30 Featured Poets: Ezhno Martin, Jeremiah Walton, Dan Denton, Krista Cox, William Taylor Jr., Iris Berry and Michael D. Grover.
@ 9:00 Music by A.S. Coomer
