There are dozens of rotating and permanent art installations around Michigan City, all of which are funded and commissioned by the Michigan City Public Art Committee and Art Fund. This organization was established in 2011 through the City Council under the direction of then-Mayor Charles Oberlie and has continued its support through now-Mayor Ron Meer and his administration. Their purpose it to create an identity that celebrates Michigan City’s unique historical, cultural, and natural resources. For a current list of every installation, visit the Michigan City Public Art Committee’s website.
