Since 1957, the annual Star Spangled Parade has marked the high point of Michigan City’s Independence Day celebration. Spectators are encouraged to arrive early to get the best spot. The parade itself starts at 11AM sharp! The route travels along Arthur and Franklin Streets and north to Detroit Street. It typically has around 180 entries, including a number of drum & bugle corps units that will perform that evening in the Annual Drum Corps International Pageant of Drums competition at Ames Field.
