Information from the Michigan City Port Authority:

Welcome to the Michigan City Port Authority, home of both the Washington Park and Trail Creek Marinas. For more than 50 years, the Michigan City Port Authority has served the pleasure boating and fishing communities on Lake Michigan. The agency’s goal is to continue to do for the next 50 years and beyond.

The marinas are set against the natural beachscape and wooded, but manicured backdrop that the Lake Michigan coastline is known for. However, that’s not all the area has to offer.

The Michigan City summer season is chock full of events. It includes activities to keep the kids entertained and a nightlife to reward those of a more mature age. From the zoo located within walking distance from the docks to the nearby casino, outlet mall and local spa, there is something here to please everyone.

So, whether you are looking for a slip, passing through or planning a trip in the area, give us a call. Our state of the art facilities, communal atmosphere and variety of marine services make the Michigan City Port Authority a one-stop shop for boaters and fishing enthusiast. Just take a tour through our webpage for more information.

Washington Park Marina Parking

In the event that your vehicle is sold, you must remove the old sticker and return it to the Port Authority before a new one is issued.

Guest Parking

Guest parking and charter customer parking will be restricted from May 15th to September 15 on weekends, holidays and special events and will be handled as follows: The west marina lot by the Port Authority office is restricted to slip holder sticker parking only. Daily guest passes are restricted to parking at the memorial in front of the Coast Guard station. The east marina lot located by the fish cleaning station will be restricted on weekends, holidays and special events to sticker parking only. Guests may use main Park Department parking (lot 1). Please be aware that lot 1 closes nightly and vehicles may not remain in lot 1 overnight. It is extremely important that we follow these simple guidelines to ensure all boaters have adequate parking. Vehicles in violation will be towed at the owners’ expense and subject to a fine.

Trailer Parking

Trailer parking is strictly prohibited in the Washington Park Marina lots. However, daily parking is available for ramp users in the Park department lot as well as daily, weekly & overnight parking at the Trail Creek Marina.

Fuel Dock & Pump-Out Services

Two diesel and four alcohol-free gasoline pumps are available at the MCPA Washington Park Marina fuel dock, offering reasonably priced fuel to slip holders and transient boaters.

MasterCard and Visa are accepted at the pump.

The fuel dock is open seven days a week through Labor Day. Times may be modified due to weather conditions

Four pump-out hoses are also available at the fuel dock.

Pump outs are always free to seasonal slip holders and free to transient boaters with a fuel purchase.  The cost for the use of the pump out without a fuel purchase is $10.00.
